Landon Donovan wins 3 ESPYs in memorable night

Los Angeles Galaxy and US Men's National Team's Landon Donovan took 3 ESPY awards in a magical night for the soccer star. Going into the awards Landon posted this on his Facebook page:

"The ESPYs are always one of my favorite nights of the year, and I don't want to come home empty handed, so if you have a second, head over and cast your votes."

And vote for Landon we did! He went up against athletes that he would never face in any other competition. For his 'Best Moment' win, he beat out Phil Mickelson, a winter olympic medalist, and the whole New Orleanes Saints team.

He also beat out legends Brett Favre and Sid 'the kid' Crosby for the 'Castrol Edge Performance Under Pressure Award'. Both awards were for his outstanding goal against Algeria in this years Fifa World Cup. When the national team was on the brink of another early World Cup exit, Landon picked up a rebound and cooly slotted the ball home and provided the US with one of their best moments in team history.

His third trophy of the night was awarded to him for being the best MLS player of the year. In an amazing run, Landon led the Los Angeles Galaxy to the MLS Finals last year while taking the leagues MVP award. He also won goal of the year last season with an incredible volley against New England.

The Galaxy are hoping this is a sign of things to come in the trophy department. So far they have only lost 2 games this season, and are on track to win the Western Division and Supporters Shield if this keeps up. Landon leads the league in assists (10), and has been an instrumental part for the Galaxy.

Landon has done us proud once again, and we all hope that he has another magical season! No matter what the future has in store for him, he will always be a Galaxy player at heart!
